THE SKULL SERIES

 

Influenced by the work of Georgia O'Keeffe as well as the Surrealists, I jumped at the chance to borrow an artist friend's large alligator skull for a series of still life paintings set in a surreal landscape.  The human skull is really a plastic model (too creepy for me to have a real one) so I dressed it up for the At the Reception series.  Guess I should have played with dolls when I was a kid.
